A waterfall pond is a great home decoration, both indoor and outdoor. The calming sound of running water in the background provides a wonderful feeling of peace and relaxation. The simplest of environments can be given an entire new look with the wonderful addition of a waterfall pond. But how do you start preparing to build or install your pond? An indoor waterfall pond can be prefabricated or custom made. The advantage of a prefabricated pond is it is already sealed against leaks, and designed to avoid spills. A prefabricated pond can also be placed just about anywhere; they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Alternatively, you can make a pond yourself with rocks and seal it with a foam sealant. There are several designs for indoor waterfalls to be added to an existing pond; a lot depends on how much space is available. Plants and/or fish can be added to the pond, if there are going to be fish in the pond, it will need to be an adequate depth to provide them a suitable habitat. The ideal fish would be ones found locally, as they will be used to the environment, goldfish are also always a good option. A basic waterfall kit will include a small pump for the waterfall, a water treatment package, a skimmer for cleaning the water’s surface, and foam for fixing leaks. A small vacuum cleaner and lighting kits are additional options. Depending on their size, pump systems are often placed in garages or basements to help reduce noise levels. |
